These orchards produce some of the finest apples in the world and the largest quantity of apple production in the UK. And what amazing varieties we have to offer. The king of cider apples is Dabinett, which accounts for over 70% of the cider apples produced in the UK. But there are hundreds of other wonderful, historical apple varieties to choose from that are packed full of flavour, complexity and interest – all with the low acid and higher tannin content that imparts an astringent and bitter characteristic to give your cider a truly complex and distinctive flavour and colour.
